Desktop and gaming PC repair

Desktops fail in ways that look identical from the outside — a machine that won't post could be memory, the power supply, the board or a single loose cable. The difference between a £40 fix and a £400 one is diagnosing it properly instead of swapping parts until it works.

Faults we see most

  • No power, no display, or fans spin and nothing happens
  • Random restarts or blue screens, especially under load
  • Crashes or freezes mid-game but idles fine
  • Loud, constant fan noise or thermal shutdowns
  • Drive not detected, or Windows won't boot
  • USB, audio or network ports dead

Won't power on or won't post

Worked through methodically: power supply under load, memory in isolation, board standoffs and headers, then the CPU. Most no-post faults turn out to be one component, not a new machine.

Crashing under load

The classic gaming PC fault. Usually an undersized or ageing power supply, an unstable memory profile, or a graphics card cooking itself in a case with no airflow. We stress test to reproduce it rather than guessing.

Storage failures

If a drive is failing we get your data off it first and argue about the drive afterwards. SSDs give very little warning, so if it's been slow or freezing, bring it in before it stops entirely.

Thermal problems

Dust, dead fans, dried paste, or a cooler that was never up to the CPU in the first place. We measure temperatures before and after so you can see what changed.

Questions about desktop repair

Can you fix a PC someone else built?

Very often that's exactly what we're doing. Bring it in as it is — no lectures.

Do I need to bring the monitor and keyboard?

Just the tower unless the fault involves them. We have benches to test on.

Broken, slow, or won't turn on?

Book it in today. We'll tell you what's wrong before you spend a penny on parts.
